What is RockRidge Canyon?
RockRidge Canyon is a stunning retreat and convention centre in the heart of the Okanagan Similkameen Valley.
Throughout the year, we welcome guest groups of all kinds—from conferences to church retreats to school trips. In the summer months, RockRidge Canyon comes alive as a Young Life of Canada camp for teenagers, where meals are just as important to the experience as the lake, the laughter, and the late-night campfires. Our Food Services team plays a central role in making every guest feel at home, serving meals that fuel both body and soul.
Why This Role Matters
-
Mentoring young adults: You’ll partner in training and guiding emerging cooks—teaching menu prep, presentation, large-volume service, teamwork in the kitchen, and the importance of quality, care, and service.
-
Hospitality at its core: You’ll help set the tone for every guest’s experience—creating warm, inviting meals and a dining atmosphere where people are refreshed in body and soul.
-
Team-centred environment: Working closely with the wider RockRidge team—food services, retreat guests, staff and volunteers—you’ll build community together.
-
Faith as foundation: We believe every meal offers an opportunity to serve out of faith and to foster growth in Christian character—integrating purpose, service and spiritual formation.
-
Creating retreat-space: Much more than feeding participants, you’ll contribute to an environment of rest and restoration—a place where people can leave the noise of the world for a while, gather around a table, and be renewed.

Meet Our Food Services Manager
“With over 25 years of culinary experience, I began my career in the casual fine dining industry before advancing into high-end fine dining.
My passion for growth led me to cook and work across Europe, expanding my skills and cultural perspective. I later transitioned into the remote camp sector, where I have spent the last decade leading large-scale kitchen operations. Guided by a strong Christian faith, I strive to foster a culture that unites faith and food, nourishing both body and soul.
My leadership is rooted in the belief that the kitchen is not only a place to prepare meals but also a space to uplift people through excellence, care, and the nourishment of the Word.”

Moving from the city where Starbucks was always around the corner, the closest anyone got to knowing your name was writing it on a cup. Here in a small town, there may not be a coffee chain on every block, but people actually know your name and welcome you into the community. Life has been filled with simple joys like cheering at hockey games, gathering for wing nights, sitting outside late into the evening under a sky full of stars talking with friends, and going for hikes surrounded by breathtaking scenery. More than anything, we feel deeply grateful to be part of a workplace where faith is at the center and where our greatest privilege is to help connect people with Christ. It is not just a job, it is a calling, and one we feel blessed to live out together in this community.”
